NAAC Congratulates Albania on Becoming a NATO Member!

The National Albanian American Council (NAAC) congratulates Albania on becoming a NATO member. Having signed the Stability Associations and Agreements in June 2006 and now NATO membership in 2009 indicates that Albania is getting closer to fulfilling its aspirations to become a member of the EU.
On Wednesday, April 1, 2009, Albania and Croatia became the 27th and 28th NATO members at a ceremony at the Department of State in Washington DC. NAAC also takes this opportunity to congratulate the brave young soldiers from Albania serving shoulder-to-shoulder with their NATO allies in Iraq and Afghanistan. The accession of Albania and Croatia comes on NATO’s 60th Anniversary in a region which only a decade ago was at war.
NAAC lauds Congressman Eliot Engel who was the author of the resolution which passed by a vote of 416-1 in the House of Representatives in November 2003 urging the incorporation of the Adriatic Charter countries, including Albania and Croatia, into NATO. The two countries becoming NATO members will improve regional economic cooperation and security.
NAAC Chairman Martin Shkreli stated “with Albania and Croatia joining NATO, it should inspire other countries in the region to take the necessary steps towards their accession into Euro-Atlantic structures.” With great pride, NAAC congratulates all Albanians on this historic occasion.
NAAC Uron Shqiperine per Anetaresimin e Plote ne NATO
Keshilli Kombetar Shqiptaro American(KKSHA)-ja uron Shqiperine per anetaresimin e saj te plote ne NATO. Nenshkrimi i Marreveshjes se Asocimit per Stabilitet ne Qeshor te 2006-es, dhe tani Anetaresimi ne NATO ne 2009, tregon qe Shqiperia po i afrohet inspirates se saj per tu bere anetare e plote e BE-se.
Te Merkuren, 1 Prill, 2009, Shpiperia dhe Kroacia u shnderruan ne anetaret e 27te e 28te te NATOs ne nje ceremoni te mbajtur ne Departamentin e Shtetit ne Washington DC. KKSHA-ja perfiton nga ky moment per te pershendetur njekohesisht edhe ushtaret Shqiptare qe sherbejne perkrah ushtaterve te tjere te NATOs ne Afganistan e Irak. Pranimi i Shqiperise ne NATO ndodh ne pervjetorin e 60te te NATOs, ne nje rajon ku vetem nje dekade me pare kishte akoma lufte.
KKSHA-ja falenderon Kongresmenin Eliot Engel I cili ishte autori I resolutes e cial kaloi me 416-1 vota ne dhomen e perfaqesuesve te kongresit American ne Nentor te 2003shit. Kjo resolute ftonte perfshirjen e vendeve te kartes se adriatikut , duke perfshire edhe shqiperine e koracine, ne NATO. Anetaresimi I ketyre dy vendeve do te permisoje bashkpunimin rajonal ekonomik e nivelin e sigurise ne rajon.
Kryetari I Bordit te KKSHAse Martin Shkreli tha se “perfshirja e Shqiperise dhe e Kroacise ne NATO duhet te frymezoje edhe vendet e tjera te rajonit te perpiqen te plotesojne hapat e duhura per pranimin e tyre sa me te shpejte ne strukturat Euro Atlantike”.
